Bauhaus White City (FLÂ6)
The International Style of Tel Aviv
Built in the early 20th century by German Jewish architects fleeing the rise of the Nazis, The White City is the largest collection of Bauhaus style buildings of any city in the world. Over 4,000 buildings were created from the early 1930s to 1950s, seen as an outstanding example of innovative town planning and architecture. Recognised by UNESCO in 2003 as “an outstanding example of new town planning and architecture”, many of the once-neglected buildings have been refurbished to their former glory, with over 1,500 earmarked for further restoration.
