For over a decade, the 400 year old Belgian village of Doel has stood firm against destruction from the ever expanding port of Antwerp. In 1999 many of the original 1,300 residents took the cash premiums offered to them and relocated elsewhere, with only a die-hard group resisting the developers pleas. Now a haven for graffiti artists and the odd tourist, the 24 surviving residents are managing to hold the developers at bay. But for how much longer?
